(More customer reviews)I bought the herculiner after seeing it in a store, and I decided to do some research on it before I bought it.I applied it today and was so pleased with it I wanted to do a review as soon as possible.Although I clearly do not have any thing to contribute as far as longevity and durability (yet), this is the real deal.It takes time, however.I think total I spent about 7 hours on it, and I wasn't being too nitpicky.Sanding is the hardest part, and I spent about an additional 30 dollars in material after I got the kit.60 grit sand paper, acetone, chemical resistant gloves (an absolute must), a stirrer for my drill to mix it with, another paint brush, a rolling tray, and blue tape. While I was sanding I started thinking that maybe it would have been better to just pay to have it done in a shop.I kept goin and got through it, and once you can stand back and see the finished product, it is defintely worth it.One gallon got me 1 1/2 coats on an 8ft bed, didn't do the tailgate yet, and I did the top rails and down the side about 2 inches for when i'm loading stuff from the side of the truck.I used a half quart about to finish the truck, and saved half for the tailgate.I honestly think it can be done with one gallon, but I put this stuff right to it, real thick, but for the extra 30 bucks for a quart, the added toughness will be worth it.
I have already had many comments from friends and family, and one friend is going out to buy some to do his truck. If you are on a tight budget, but want the added protection of a bedliner, along with improved grip and styling, I would highly recommend this product.I was skeptical at first, and I read about 30 reviews online about it that were all 5 stars.I agree with them, it is just a matter of taking the time (can be done in one day, only takes about 3 hours to dry on asunny day).Plus, you have the pride that always comes with a do it yourself project, and that is saying that you did it when people ask where it was done etc.Looks great, and I feel like it will perform great as well.
Sorry for the long review, but I know I had a lot of doubts when ordering it, and I just wanted to let people know they shouldn't worry.
